Dolphin Software is an Intellectual Property software company holding Australian and international patents granted in 1995 to its surveying methodology.

Since 2004 and in parallel with continuing R&D strength, Dolphin Software has steadily created expertise in supplying client services into specific market sectors.

 

Our Team

Jude Ellen – Lead Strategist and CEO

Jude is expert at working with clients to shift cumbersome manual data capture and reporting processes to efficient electronic formats, with effective communications strategies, optimum data quality in responses, and targeted, outcome oriented executive reporting of performance metrics, supported by qualitative feedback.

Jude, qualified in economics and holding a Master’s degree in public health, has consulted in the health and community services industry from 1978, and in the information technology industry from 1989. She completed a senior executive development residential program at Melbourne Business School in 2007.

Skills include organisational review, strategic repositioning, demonstration of achievements through key performance metrics for personnel and for organisations, and creating and working with collaborative teams.

Jude delights in working with small groups of decision makers to assist in answering the key organisational questions “how are we tracking ?” and “how can we get better?”, using evidence based decision making and a systems thinking framework.

Peter Barwell – CTO, and Lead IT Systems Analyst, Designer, and Process Automation Expert  

PB has designed and produced software for personal computers since PCs were available in 1984. Originally qualified in electronics, Peter has consulted in information technology since 1977 for diverse industry applications and is experienced in –

  • systems design and decision support software development;
  • information technology strategies;
  • systems architecture advice and systems migration;
  • electronic forms design and analysis software.

PB has particular expertise in work flow and office automation, including data base design and development, automated analytical complex reporting in document and graphical formats. He is the prime author of Dolphin Software’s data capture and automatic reporting methodology.

PB has successfully managed small expert teams of software developers and systems support consultants, delivering services and products nationally and internationally.

Eamon Holligan – Business Analyst , Reporting and Statistical Presentation, Graphics Designer , Web Site Creator, and Barista

Eamon has been with Dolphin since mid-2008, specialising in data analysis, innovative report template design, database construction, and Drupal web design.

Graduating from Monash University in 1999 with a major in economics and minor in econometrics, he accumulated a range of skills working in the public and private sectors, including economic and statistical analysis, survey design, project management, graphic design and website design.

Before joining the Dolphin Pod, Eamon was a principal economist with NT Treasury, responsible for macroeconomic analysis and reporting on the Northern Territory, national and international  economies.

Eamon’s key strengths lie in his:

  • excellent analytical capabilities;
  • strong focus on clients’ business needs, competitive position and market environment; and his
  • flair and passion for visual design.

Brett Riley - Lead Programmer, Systems Administrator, Graphics and Web Designer, User Interface Designer and Barista

Brett has worked in the Dolphin Software team for 5 years, and is studying for a Bachelor of IT.

His work has mostly focused on C, C++, PHP, Jscript, Pearl, HTML, VBA, VB, Java, C#, and Lotus script programming languages in developing and supporting diverse aspects of Dolphin Software’s software and services such as:

  • IBM Lotus Notes mail API and simple and extended MAPI
  • Collecting data input from USB devices
  • implementing a wide range of graphic types (GIF/JPG/PNG) and a system for logging into Dolphin Software’s electronic forms
  • encrypting and decrypting data
  • creating hosted web solutions from existing binary programs using PHP/Jscript and HTML
  • transferring data between programming languages (C/C++ to PHP/HTML/JS)
  • developing communication with and between databases
  • updating older User Interfaces
  • working closely with Dolphin Software’s partners Intel and Motion Computing to bring the PC Tablet C5’s barcode/RFID/camera data capture capabilities into Dolphin Softwares’ electronic forms system.
